Back when I was a kid, the kidnapping-clown-in-a-van story was in heavy competition with the razor-blade-in-an apple for Halloween stories that actually scared trick-or-treaters and their parents. There were a whole rash of sightings back in the eighties, and apparently at least one of these clowns is back and operating in the Chicago area.
